This policy explains how DMT Studio, publishing ScreenMinter under Applings Studio, handles personal information in connection with the ScreenMinter website and Windows desktop application.
1. Who we are
ScreenMinter is operated by DMT Studio and published under Applings Studio. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@applings.studio.
2. Information we may process
Website and support
- Information you submit through the contact form, such as your name, email address, selected topic, and message.
- Technical request and security information that our hosting provider may process when you visit the site or submit a form, such as IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, and request logs.
ScreenMinter desktop app
ScreenMinter is designed as a local-first Windows application. Project files, generated media, settings, job state, and local logs are primarily stored on your computer. Sensitive credentials are designed to be stored using Windows Credential Manager rather than in ordinary settings files.
If you connect third-party services, ScreenMinter sends the information needed for the requested feature directly to those services. Depending on what you configure, this may include Etsy, AI text or image providers, and hosting or publishing providers. Those services process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
3. Why we process information
- To provide and secure the website and desktop application.
- To respond to support, product, privacy, and legal inquiries you send us.
- To diagnose technical problems when you voluntarily provide logs or a support bundle.
- To protect against abuse, spam, fraud, and security incidents.
- To meet legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims when necessary.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the basis may be performance of a contract or steps you request before entering one, our legitimate interests in operating and securing ScreenMinter and responding to users, your consent where we specifically ask for it, or compliance with law.
4. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may use service providers that help us host the website, receive contact-form submissions, deliver email, and operate our business. Our current website is hosted on Netlify. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.
5. Third-party accounts and credentials
Your API keys, Etsy shared secrets, OAuth refresh tokens, and passwords should never be submitted through our website contact form. Credentials saved through the desktop app are intended to remain on your Windows device in Windows Credential Manager. When ScreenMinter authenticates with a third-party service, that service receives the authentication and request data necessary to provide its service.
6. Retention
We generally retain support/contact submissions for up to 24 months after the last related interaction, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for security, legal, accounting, or dispute purposes. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the relevant service provider's operational policies. Data stored locally by the desktop application remains on your device until you remove it, uninstall/delete it, or use available cleanup controls.
7. International processing
Our service providers and the third-party services you choose may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on the mechanisms made available by the relevant provider and applicable law.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we control, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Cookies and analytics
The current ScreenMinter website does not intentionally use advertising or behavioral-analytics cookies. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary infrastructure and security mechanisms required to deliver and protect the site.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
ScreenMinter is intended for business and creative-workflow use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children through this site.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as ScreenMinter or its services change. The updated date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
